The State of Bliss Skirt - Honey
Ever since I was a little girl have always had an affinity with western, cowgirl esque aesthetics especially from yesteryear. It seems oddly serendipitous that I now find myself living on a farm with 40 plus horses and a family of cowboys and cowgirls who run their family trail riding business. As ‘learner rider’ I may still be (and no doubt always will be) more of a voyeur into this enchanting lifestyle but I often relish in the delight my child self would have at the knowledge of my destiny. The State of Bliss shirt and State of Bliss skirt is an ode to Adult me living out my childhood fantasy. An interpretation of my daydreams of old westerns, ranch living, rodeos, country belles and falling in love with a cowboy.
Honey is a gorgeous rich camel colour. A classic neutral with golden undertones.
Made from a heavy yet super soft Rayon this piece features a high waist with a flat front and elastic rear, attached waist tie, a front slit, cross-stitch detailing, a subtle A-line shape and raw edged frill hem. The length is slightly longer than your average midi but can be easily folded over for more petite heights. My favourite way to wear this piece is tucked into the ‘State of Bliss Shirt’; but it also pair’s beautifully with all sorts of blouses, tee’s, jumpers and shirts.
- 100% Hand Heavy Weight Rayon
- Tailored waist
- Free flowing form
- Trans seasonal and timeless to cherish for many moons to come
- Blanket stitch detailing
- Elasticated rear waist
This piece is designed to be worn tight around the waist and torso and free flowing at the hem. It has therefore been sized accordingly. It is a firm fit across the waist but the elastic allows for comfort and ease and will loosen up with the heat of your body . If you wish for a slightly looser fit go up a size. I am wearing a size S in the images above and would normally wear a standard size 10 for bottoms in most Australian labels. As most of our pieces are adjustable and reasonably free flowing; our sizing is simply a guide. Here is what the sizes for this piece translate to in standard Australian sizes.
XS = 6 - 8
S = 10
M = 12 - 14
L = 14 - 16
