The Clara Kimono Dress - Vanilla Bean

$149

Named after Clara Bow; famous movie star from the 1920's, this beautiful dress hints at the gorgeous detailing and style from this time that has long been close to my heart. As a young girl I was always obsessed with the Great Gatsby completely taken by the beauty and hedonistic energy of the Roaring 20's. I loved the beautiful intricate detailing in the clothing from the beautiful flapper style dresses to the more simple day time looks with that featured pin tucking, drop waists and beautiful trims.

The Clara Kimono Dress is my wearable take on this style and slightly sensual moody way of dressing. You can wear closed as a dress or leave open as a kimono. It features beautiful pin-tucking from the shoulders to upper thigh, adjustable shell button fastenings, wide loose sleeves, belt loops and tie belt, and subtle gathered skirt. I like to wear up around the small of my waist for a more flattering shape but you can choose to fasten the belt wherever you feel comfortable.

Vanilla Bean is a rich glossy chocolate brown; reminiscent of the wonderful flecks of vanilla you find in delicious deserts. It is warm and sensual and looks beautiful paired with other neutrals or with black.
