The State of Bliss Dress - Sacred Smoke
After the popularity of the State of Bliss Shirt from my last collection 'Towards Dawn' I decided I needed to create a dress version of this beloved shirt for us all to swan about in over summer.
The back story: (Excerpt from the original description): Ever since I was a little girl I have always had an affinity with western, cowgirl esque aesthetics especially from yesteryear. It seems oddly serendipitous that I now find myself living on a farm with 40 plus horses and a family of cowboys and cowgirls who run their family trail riding business. As ‘learner rider’ I may still be (and no doubt always will be) more of a voyeur into this enchanting lifestyle but I often relish in the delight my child self would have at the knowledge of my destiny. The State of Bliss Blouse and State of Bliss Skirt is an ode to Adult me living out my childhood fantasy. An interpretation of my daydreams of old westerns, ranch living, rodeos, country belles and falling in love with a cowboy.
And so the State of Bliss 2.0 dress was born. A fabulous, ridiculously comfortable cowgirl/ prairie number to cherish forever. It features a high neck, shell button opening, pin-tucking down the front and back of the bodice, a subtle puffed sleeve and raw edged frill detailing around the neck, buttons, cuffs and sleeves, an elasticated and drawstring waistband, a slightly A-Line bottom with more raw edged vertical frills. Made from the softest Rayon, the bodice is one layer and the skirt is lined to ensure knickers are not noticeable.
Sacred Smoke is a beautiful colour reminiscent of the smoke created by burning sage. It has steely blue undertones and a dusty well worn appeal.My favourite way to wear this piece is with the sleeves slightly pushed up, a few buttons undone and cinched in at the waist.
- 100% Hand Heavy Weight Rayon
- Subtle Tailored fit
- Trans seasonal and timeless to cherish for many moons to come
- Shell button detailing
- Elasticated cuffs
This piece is designed to gently skim over the body draping with the natural curves of your form. It has therefore been sized accordingly. I am wearing a size S in the images above and would normally wear a standard size 10-12 in most Australian labels. As most of our pieces are adjustable and reasonably free flowing; our sizing is simply a guide. Here is what the sizes for this piece translate to in standard Australian sizes.
XS = 6 - 8
S = 8 - 10
M = 10 - 12
L = 12 - 14
XL = 14 - 16
